REMEMBER to STOP all the parts you can of ANY antivirus or antispyware product before uninstalling it, and look for uninstall/removal utilities at their sites and if none use Revo. Disable password protection from the endpoint users control, which allows administrators to gain access to the endpoint if they are locked out. Im not very computer knowledgeable, so telling me to disable the webroot spy sweeper doesnt help. It could sound as if McAfee is blocking/removing WSA during the installation process. The Revo Uninstaller (Free) can help remove the WebRoot. (You occasionally have to turn it temporarily off with the little Icon on LEFT of the + bottom right of IE) I also have IE to always start with InPrivate Filter active.

I am not much of a fan of WebRoot, did you buy it? If not I would uninstall it, stop all you can of it 1st and look at their site for an uninstaller. Check this and run the OneCare clean up utility, also read the rest of it.
